Our Impact Through the Decades
Junior League of Orange County, CA (JLOCC) has been training volunteers and solving issues in Orange County for over 60 years. Over the years, we have transformed the nonprofit landscape and fostered impactful partnerships in Orange County.
1990s
Girls Hope Home: JLOCC helped establish and furnish a home for girls aged 9-17, supporting them with educational outings and mentorship programs.
Girls Inc. Partnership: JLOCC implemented pregnancy prevention programs, career-oriented activities, and community projects with Girls Inc.
SEEK Program: A collaboration with Boys and Girls Clubs to create innovative programs for families in Garden Grove and Capistrano Valley.
Child Abuse Services Team (CAST): Partnering with Orangewood Foundation, we created trauma-informed services for child victims of abuse.
Prime Time Literacy Program: JLOCC read to children in shelters, distributed over 25,000 books, and promoted literacy through book drives.
Pregnancy Prevention Mentoring: JLOCC paired volunteers with at-risk youth to mentor and inspire positive choices.
Project for Preventing Adolescent Pregnancy (PPAP): JLOCC implemented programs with educational tools like “Baby Think It Over” dolls to delay parenthood.
Independent Living Program: JLOCC worked with the Orangewood Foundation to help foster children transition to independent living.
2000s
Free Arts for Abused Children: Volunteers introduced arts-based therapeutic activities to children in care facilities.
Laura’s House: JLOCC created supportive environments and organized interactive events for women and children escaping abuse.
Bear Hugs Program: In partnership with the Orangewood Foundation, JLOCC created kits with essentials to help foster youth transition into independent living.
Canyon Acres Services: JLOCC organized events and therapeutic activities for children with severe emotional needs.
YMCA Youth Services Corps: JLOCC mentored high-risk youth to develop volunteerism through community service projects.
Casa Teresa Mentorship: JLOCC partnered with Casa Teresa to mentor homeless pregnant women and new mothers, aiding their transition back into the community.
Girls Inc. Action for Safety Program: JLOCC collaborated to teach girls negotiation, assertiveness, and self-defense skills.
Higher Education Mentoring Program: JLOCC supported Latina high school students with tutoring, workshops, and college prep assistance.
Bridges to Higher Education: Mentorship and educational workshops for dependent foster youth to encourage post-secondary education.
Olive Crest Kinship Program: JLOCC supported foster youth placed with relative caregivers by providing resources and events.
2010s
Blind Children’s Learning Center: JLOCC developed sports and music programs, parent support groups, and educational workshops.
Second Harvest Food Bank: JLOCC supported programs like Kids Cafe and Backpack to combat childhood hunger.
Raise Foundation Partnership: JLOCC expanded programs to prevent child abuse, hosting “Family Fun Days” in at-risk neighborhoods.
Down Syndrome Foundation: JLOCC implemented new services such as lending libraries, support groups, and teen centers for individuals with Down syndrome.
Human Trafficking Awareness: JLOCC developed community education and training programs to address human trafficking in Orange County.
CHOC Reading Program: JLOCC worked with CHOC to distribute books and host reading events to encourage literacy among young patients.
Crittenton Services: JLOCC developed mentorship programs and life skills training for young women in Crittenton’s care.
